Collective storytelling

Stories can act as wise teachers and unleash hidden potential. They help to build a map towards the desired future because they:

  • help to understand complex systems
  • activate collective understanding and empathy among the listeners
  • make the turning points, breakthroughs and pivotal moments visible and accessible
  • help to build awareness
  • help to build connections as the story teller reveals their vulnerability and shares from heart
  • bring wisdom and understanding about the current situation
  • give support and trust
  • show how values are being implemented
  • pass on the invisible knowledge and experience
  • help to identify the abilities and values needed in a complex situation

It is essential to have a purposeful harvesting design that serves the purpose of the process. This enables the insights and patterns to emerge that can lead to wiser actions and systemic change.
